JAMMU, Apr 26: Seeking justice, the family members of a 29-year-old man, who was allegedly beaten to death in Malaysia by two unidentified bike-borne assailants held protest here today.
The family members and relatives of deceased Ajay Kumar, son of Mulkh Raj, a resident of Sujanpur, Marh along with villagers assembled outside Press Club along with Kumar’a body and raised slogans seeking justice.
While talking to media persons, Mulkh Raj said that Ajay Kumar was working in Malaysia and was accompanied by four other persons. The persons should be quizzed in the death of my son, he demanded.
He also urged the State Government to take up the matter with Central Government for further taking up the death case of his son with Malaysia Government, so that culprits could be booked.
Later, the protestors cremated the body of the Ajay Kumar at Purmandal cremation ground.
It is to mention here that, Ajay Kumar was killed on April 18 in Malaysia when he was on his way to a nearby town to catch a bus for airport, the victim’s family alleged.
He was working in Malaysia with a private company and had booked a ticket for 22nd April to visit home when he was beaten to death on 18th April.
The family was informed about the death by another youth who was Kumar’s co-worker in Malaysia.
“They were on their way to a nearby town when two motorcycle-borne men intercepted them and asked them to show their passport. The assailants introduced themselves as police and wanted to check the bags of Kumar and his friend.
Kumar tried to run away but was chased by the assailants. They beat him up and dumped the body in a nearby stream.
