Family of PSO protests, rejects accidental death claim

POONCH, Aug 18: Family members and relatives of the deceased PSO whose body with bullet injury was found near the house of DDC members at Surankote few days ago today held protest demanding justice and rejected accidental death claim.
The family members and relatives of Mohd Asif, a Special Police Officer (SPO) and personal bodyguard of Sohail Malik, a BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member from Surankote-B, said that police claim of accidental fire and subsequent death was not true. They claimed that he was murdered and a fair probe should be held into the matter. They raised loud slogans seeking justice for the deceased.
Asif was found dead under mysterious circumstances few days back. After the incident, it was initially reported that the death took place due to an accidental discharge from Asif’s own fire arm. However, the family and close associates of the deceased have strongly contested this claim, alleging that Mohd Asif was murdered. They argue that the circumstances surrounding his death point towards foul play, rather than an accident.
Family members including wife and sister of deceased PSO today met with Police officers, demands justice and after that they gathered outside Police Station Surankote and raised suspicions of murder against few persons and asked for the fare investigation. The crowd with some locals called for swift action against those responsible for it.
The demonstrators voiced their concerns loudly, insisting that no stone was unturned in covering the truth behind Mohd Asif’s death. The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the community, with many calling for justice and transparency in what they believe could be a case of clear murder.
