SRINAGAR, June 24: The family members of a scholar from Bemina who went missing during a trek today said that they were willing to persuade him to come home if the police share his location with them.
The family members of Hilal Ahmad said this during a protest that was organized in Press Enclave, after the police said that their son has joined militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
They said that while they know the conduct of their son, they are sure that he might not have done so. “If the police are saying so, let them share his location with us and we will persuade him to come home, no matter what,” a family member said.
The family said that apparently, the police know his location as they are claiming that he has joined the militant ranks.
“We don’t know anything; we just want him home and nothing else. We are not on the streets to fight with anyone. But we want him to return home,” the family said.
