The protesting employees assembled in the Press Enclave here and protested against the authorities for withholding their salaries for last five months. Amid sloganeering the protesting employees said the delay in salaries was affecting the education of their children as they were being expelled from schools for not paying school dues. “We have not received salaries for last 5 months and that has forced us to hit roads. We have been protesting for the release of our salaries and has knocked at every door but no one is listening to our issues,” Nelofar Shabir, a protesting employee said, adding despite being the backbone of the Health Department, they were being treated unfairly.
The protestors alleged that authorities were turning blind eye to their issues by delaying the salaries. “Despite strengthening healthcare at grass root level we are facing immense hardships due to the cold-hearted approach of the department towards us. Such treatment has inflicted misery on us and the schools have denied education to our children due to pending dues,” another protestor said.
The protestors said that they have to often face the inconsistency in receiving the salaries and appealed the Governor NN Vohra to resolve the issue once and for all.
