JAMMU, Oct 23: Prominent social activist and senior trade union leader, Abdul Hafiz Fani, has called upon the LG administration to address the grievances of the low-paid employees, pensioners, senior citizens, and unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to him, people in general and employees and pensioners in particular are facing significant financial hardships due to the soaring prices of the essential commodities.
Addressing a gathering of employees and pensioners in Bhaderwah, Fani requested the immediate grant of district status to Bhaderwah, a demand that has been echoing for decades, especially since 1998 during the agitation of the Bar Association and Students Federation of Bhaderwah.
Additionally, he emphasized the need for a multi-tier parking facility in the town due to the daily traffic jams, which are severely affecting the lives of the people of Bhaderwah.
Fani also expressed deep concern about the deplorable condition of the historic Seri Bazaar in Bhaderwah and urged for its restoration to its previous grandeur. He called for the provision of an adequate stock of ration and other essentials, particularly in preparation for the upcoming winter in the region.

The meeting was presided over by the senior leader of the Low Paid Employees Federation, Balwant Rai Rathore, and featured addresses by several other notable individuals, including Pankaj Manhas, Omkar Bhagat, Arshad Sheikh, and others.
