JAMMU, Dec 30: A farewell party was organized at District Jail Jammu by the J&K Prisons Department in the honour of Sr. Superintendent, Javid Masood Fazili presently posted as OSD with the Director General of Prisons who is going to attain superannuation on Dec 31.
Fazili is an appointee of 1985 batch and has headed almost all the Jails of the State including Central Jail Kotbhalwal and Central Jail Srinagar.
He has been quite popular in the Department as a man of principles with professional competency.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the inmates of Ambphalla Jail on the occasion where the function was presided over by Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh.
From host institution Sr. Superintendent, Dinesh Sharma presented welcome address.
In his speech, Fazili impressed upon his colleagues to be good with the prisoners irrespective of their class and case as this is the true field to practice social work and at the same time ensuring proper custodial management.
The DGP praised the outgoing officer for his dedication and contribution to the department.
Those present on the occasion were Dr. M.S Lone, DIG Prisons; Sanjay Kumar, FA/CAO, Prison Directorate; J.S Johar, Commandant JKAP 8th BN; S.A Beig, Staff Officer and others.
