RAJOURI, Oct 10: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta conducted an awareness campaign in Tandwal for farmers on the three agriculture-related legislations and to counter the opposition parties’ agenda of misleading the farming community over the issue.
While interacting with the farmers Gupta said that the three agriculture-related farm bills will benefit them at large. “It is another constructive step of PM, Narendra Modi led BJP Government to double farmers’ income”, he added.
Vibodh informed the gathering that the farm bills will abolish the dominance of middlemen, facilitate farmer with wide range of the markets outside the traditional Mandis and no more they will have to bargain for price of their produce as they can sell where they are benefitted. He strongly asserted that these farm-related bills and the Labour Codes will end the plight of farmers and labours in the country addressing long-pending reforms in the sector.
He asserted that farmers have been considered a vote bank by other political parties and made hollow promises with them and did nothing when voted to power. This has been cause the desperation among the farmers all over the country and various places farmers committed suicide due to wrong policies of previous Government. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is from grass root level and is well aware of the problems of the common masses of India including farmers, farm workers, labourers as well as other working class people has taken many steps for their welfare and upliftment.
“The Narendra Modi regime will empower them socially and financially”, he added. He further said that BJP will strive to end farmers’ plight.
He alleged that Opposition leaders are spreading rumours that APMC Mandis would be closed, but that is not true. The APMC Act was amended to get competitive prices for farmers’ produce. The Centre has already announced the minimum selling price for 22 crops and it will fulfil the promises made to farmers, he said.
