Farmers delegation calls on Navin Choudhary

JAMMU, Aug 21: A delegation of farmers led by Tajinder Singh Wazir, Member Kissan Advisory Board today met Navin Choudhary, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Horticulture Animal Husbandry and farmers Welfare and discussed various issues of farmers with him.
The delegation expressed its satisfaction for various initiatives taken by him for promotion of agriculture and dairy sector in JKUT aimed at doubling the income of farmers by 2022.
They said easing import of milking animals, unique IDDP policy, insurance schemes which has led to boon in dairy sectors and farmers also expressed their gratitude for sanctioning 80 kanals of land for Horticulture Nursery in Chokroi Jammu.
In the meeting two leading dairy farmers Punjab Singh and Mukhdar Singh informed that Integrated Dairy Development Policy (IDDP) has helped them increase the milk production from 300 liters to 1000 liters per day. They further and in future they will organizing animal fair for new budding dairy entrepreneurs.
Tajinder Singh Wazir added that computation of Fat and SNF by Milk Cooperatives Federation should be done as per National Milk Grid with third party monitoring and check with out any confusion and it should be in the interest of milk producers.
He further demanded development of commercial Floriculture and implementing various schemes for promotion of flower growers of entire JK. Principal Secretary assured full support for development of agriculture and allied sectors in JK UT.
