Farmers protest in border belt

Vijaypur, Sept 22: Farmers today held a protest demonstration demanding adequate electricity supply in border villages of Ramgarh,Nanga.
Led by former Minister and JKPCC general secretary, Manjit Singh farmers organized a demonstration outside the office of SDM Vijaypur. The protesters demanding proper electricity supply because the border villages have been suffering badly.
“They fail to water their paddy crops because of inadequate supply of electricity. The farmers need regular electricity for three months but they are forced to face problem,” said Manjit Singh.
Singh said that being on International Border, the administration should ensure power supply especially during night hours keeping in view sensitivity on the border and movement of suspicious persons.
He said that fear of infiltration bid by the militants always remained there and it increases more when there is no electricity.
