Vijaypur, Aug 28: The people in Vijaypur today remembered two farmers who  sacrificed their lives for the cause of general public.
In this regard, a function was organised by the Kissan Union of Vijaypur where former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh was the chief guest. After presenting floral tribues to two farmers, Singh spoke on the occasion highlighting importance and struggle of the villagers for their rights.
The former Minister said that from last 24 years when these two kissans were killed in police firing to till date the situation has not changed with regard to power and drinking water.
He said at that time too the people were forced to come on roads and today also people don’t get adequate power supply.
“The administration and PDD has failed to provide required power supply forcing people to face hardships,” he said adding that the administration should meet demands  of the people otherwise they would again be forced to come on roads.
