NEW DELHI, Nov 25: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah felicitated KK Langer from Rotary Club Rajouri for organizing around 92 free surgeries for poor children from the J&K under the age of 18 years.
In a function organized by Rotary Gift of Life Trust in India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi, Dr Abdullah lauded the role of Rotary Club Rajouri, for sponsoring poor children for free surgeries.
He appreciated Chief Coordinator (J&K) Gift of Life , KK Langer for the efficient role he played in organizing two major heart screening camps of Rotary Gift of Life in Srinagar and Jammu, where in many poor patients were benefited. These children were suffering from congenital heart disease and their parents could not afford for their surgeries as the cost per operation goes up to Rs 3 lakh.
Dr Abdullah also felicitated Rakesh Gupta, President Rotary Club Rajouri for the effective involvement.
Union Minister also met few child patients from J&K and provided them with Gift of Life T-shirts and assured the cooperation of the J&K Government for further organizing Gift of Life camps.
