SRINAGAR, Oct 2: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah has called upon the doctors faculty to put in their best to serve the people of the State who are facing hardships on account of advanced medical facilities. He hoped that doctors who have gone aboard would also return back to contribute in the State health sector.
Speaking on the Two Days Free Super Specialty Medical Camp jointly organized by Zainab Ali Khair-e-Aam and Director Health Services Kashmir at Khrew Pampore here today, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that doctor’s job is a noble profession and asked the doctors to perform their duties with dedication and social commitment, so that hardships of the people on account of health care delivery system are removed.
Speaker Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister for Forest and Environment Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member Parliament Ghulam Nabi Ratanpuri, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr. Saleem Rehman and the members of Zainab Ali Khair-e-Aam were present on the occasion.
Dr. Abdullah said both State and Central Governments are endeavoring to provide best possible health care facilities to the people, adding that soon the prices of essential and life saving drugs would be slashed down to make these affordable for the poor. He asked the people to keep their environs neat and clean to check spread of at emergence of diseases.
He also assured the saffron growers that their grievances would also be removed, adding that import of low quality Chinese saffron and adulteration in world famous saffron of the State is really cause of concern. He said that the measures would be taken to protect the saffron industry in the State.
Dr. Abdullah hoped that ongoing dialogue between India and Pakistan will be result oriented and all the trade routes between the two neighboring countries including Jammu and Kashmir will be open for the benefit of the people.
He said that he will take the issue of PHC Khrew with the State Government as well as the Union Minister for Health.
Mian Altaf, speaking on the occasion, said that service to the humanity is the best form of worship and it is why that Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah constructed the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences with a view to provide better and modern treatment facilities to the patients of the State. This is one of the biggest contributions of Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah which will be remembered by every citizen of the State for ever, he added.
He said Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are also keen to ameliorate the lot of Kashmiri people and shape their destiny.
