SRINAGAR, Feb 21: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah today urged the administration to provide relief and rehabilitation to the affected families of landslide in Ganderbal district.
Dr Abdullah visited the families affected by landslides in Rezan area of Kangan Ganderbal district today. He urged the administration to provide relief and rehabilitation to the affected families.
He said that the landslide in the area was triggered due to ongoing tunnel works. Farooq said that they had raised their concerns with the authorities about the threat of landslides in the area.
The NC president said that the Government should relocate these people as the area is now dangerous for living.
He was accompanied by party leaders Nasir Aslam Wani, Tanvir Sadiq and Danish Iqbal.
Nine houses were damaged in the landslide on Sunday night. Besides damaging the houses, the incident left 14 domestic animals dead.
