JAMMU, July 20: Mother of Farooq Khan, Advisor to Lt Governor, J&K UT, passed away after brief illness here this evening.
She was 85 and breathed her last at Govt Medical College Hospital, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu at around 8 pm on Monday. The burial shall take place at Rehari Burial Ground at 9.30 am on Tuesday (July21), the family sources said.
In view of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, which is at exponent stage, Mr Khan and his family members have requested all friends and well wishers to pray for the departed noble soul to rest in peace from their respective places by adhering to the social distancing and number limiting protocol for burial, fixed by the Government.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu has extended his heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Khalida Begum.
Terming her as a noble and compassionate soul, the Lt Governor said that she was a philanthropist, always working for the welfare of public.
In a condolence message, the Lt Governor prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
