JAMMU, Aug 25: BJP national secretary, Farooq Khan, who has been appointed as Administrator of Lakshadweep, was given rousing reception by BJP activists at Jammu Airport on his arrival here after being assigned the new responsibility.
BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A.) along with State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, led the party activists to receive him at the Airport.
Farooq Khan was garlanded and extended greetings on the occasion.
Sat Sharma, while congratulating Farooq Khan for his new assignment, said that the BJP led NDA Government has indeed chosen a very great nationalist personality for the important post of the administrator of Lakshadweep and it is also the honour of the party activists of Jammu & Kashmir.
Farooq Khan expressed gratitude to the party’s national and State units as well as Government at the Centre for their decision of providing him an opportunity to serve the people outside own State and assured to make every effort to come up to the expectations of the party and the Government.
Ashok Kaul said that BJP is a very large organization and it has a healthy tradition of recognizing the services of its cadre and Farooq Khan is one such person who deserves to be involved in development and progress of the country.
State vice-president Yudhvir Sethi, State secreary Vikran Randhawa, Jammu district president Baldev Singh Billiwaria, Training Department State incharge Rajeev Charak, State Working Committee members Pt. Ashok Khajuria and Indu Bhushan Sharma, district general secretary Vinay Gupta, Mahila Morcha district President Rekha Mahajan, party leaders Vikram Sharma, Parshottam Sharma, Sharda Devi and others were present at the airport to receive Farooq Khan.
