Farooq, Omar, others condemn killing of cop

SRINAGAR, June 23: Various political parties have strongly condemned the killing of Police Sub inspector in Srinagar yesterday.
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president, Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president, Omar Abdullah condemned the killing of a cop, who was shot near his home in Nowgam.
Dr Farooq in his condolence message said, “I condemn the killing of the cop in unequivocal terms. The killing is a grim reminder of the jinxed fate of our region. There is no place for such acts in today’s world. I express my sympathies with the bereaved and pray for peace to departed.”
While condemning the attack, party vice president, Omar Abdullah said such attacks should be condemned without any reservation.

Apni Party, president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today condemned the killing of a policeman who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Nowgam-Srinagar yesterday evening.
In a statement issued here, Bukhari termed the dastardly attack as shocking and heart wrenching while expressing his profound condolences with the bereaved family.
He said that violence holds no validation in any civilized society and such acts have only worsened the situation in Jammu and Kashmir for long now.
“The forces inimical to peace have always tried to create a situation of fear and panic through bloodshed and killings of the innocent. This vicious cycle of death in J&K needs to end now. I strongly condemn this despicable attack and extend my sympathies to the family of the slain cop,” he observed.
“The Government must pay adequate ex-gratia relief to the family of the slain cop”, he said.
CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has condemned the killing of police inspector, Parvez Ahmad Dar in Nowgam area of Srinagar and said that violence in any form is condemnable.
He termed the incident as unfortunate and said that there is an urgent need to put an end to these killings.

The Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has also strongly condemned the killing of JKP Inspector in Bagati Kanipora area of Budgam district, terming the incident as inhuman and mindless act.
JKPCC also demanded that the perpetrators of the heinous crime must be identified for exemplary punishment.
Congress Party feels disappointed over this brutal and mindless act and urged the Government to ensure exemplary punishment to killers of slain JKP Inspector. The Party expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, and conveyed heartfelt condolences to family and friends of slain Pervez Ahmad Dar and prayed for his eternal peace.
BJP leader and incharge Local Bodies Cell of the Party, Sanjay Baru has also strongly condemned the killing of CID Inspector in Srinagar yesterday and said that violence of any kind has no place in a civilized society. He said all political parties should join hands to defeat the designs of the terrorists who are hell bent to disturb the peace of the J&K and have inflicted miseries on the people for last over three decades.
Chairman People’s Democrtic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has expressed shock and grief over the killing of a police inspector by unidentified gunmen in Nowgam-Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Hakeem Yaseen while condemning killing of the policeman had expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
