JAMMU, Apr 27: Mrs Benji Nedou wife of hotelier Benji Nedou and maternal aunt of Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy and National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and former Minister Dr Mustafa Kammal passed away yesterday at Beach Kandy Hospital in Mumbai after brief illness.
She happened to be grand aunt of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Mrs Nedou was around 85 and is survived by her son Friede Nedou.
Farooq and Omar accompanied Mrs Nedou from Mumbai to Srinagar and joined her burial at her ancestral home at Tangmarg at 4 pm today.
A large number of other prominent persons including members of Abdullah family were present during last rites.
