JAMMU, Dec 5: Hitting out at National Conference (NC) president, Farooq Abdullah’s rant over role of army and other security forces in rigging polls, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta said that such statements show the frustration of National Conference (NC) leadership as they have foreseen worst ever political debacle in the upcoming polls in J&K. He said that such a stand against the security forces and Government is uncalled for and unacceptable.
The BJP leader said that the so-called warning of Farooq Abdullah to security forces and the Government not to interfere in the elections in J&K is nothing but yet another political stunt by the old politician, who has turned apprehensive over the outcome of polls in J&K as BJP has become a force to reckon with and people from all nook and corners are coming forward to give full mandate to party of nationalist people.
The BJP senior leader also questioned the re-election of Farooq Abdullah as NC president claiming that this action by the octogenarian politician is just a drama as he never let anyone else including his son Omar to run the party affairs. He said that the NC has lost ground and that is the reason behind Farooq’s peculiar behaviour as earlier he said that the party affairs will be handed over to someone from the young brigade after internal polls but when the time of poll came, he maneuvered the entire thing and was re-elected as NC President.
Kavinder said that Farooq is famous for such tantrums but it is highly objectionable that to satiate his vested political interests, he is using the name of army and other security forces accusing them of rigging the polls.
