JAMMU, Dec 8: Dismissing the case, the Fast Track Court here has acquitted the rape accused of charges levelled against him.
After listening to both the prosecution and the defence Presiding Officer (Judge), Khalil Choudhary at Fast Track Court Jammu said that the prosecution has miserably failed to prove the guilt of the accused, Major Singh Manhas alias Lucky son of Bansi Lal resident of village Chakar Bhati Pranoo, Tehsil Bhadarwah, Doda at present Beli Charana, Satwari, beyond any reasonable doubt.
It is pertinent to mention here that the case under trail was of Police Station Satwari for offences Under Sections 376/342/511 RPC registered in FIR number 71/2016.
The Judge said: “In such circumstances, prosecution case cannot sustain and merits dismissal.”
He further said: “Accordingly the case in hand is hereby dismissed as it was not proved and the accused Major Singh Manhas is acquitted of the charges levelled against him.”
The Judge ordered that the accused was discharged from the bail and personal bonds.
