Fast track development my priority: Malhotra

Jammu, Dec 11:  Asserting that the works to be undertaken by him would set a new proto-type of development in old city here, the Congress candidate from the Jammu East, Vikram Malhotra today stated that better career opportunities for the youth and women empowerment besides ensuring fast-track development  in the constituency would be his priorities.
Mr Malhotra who today sped-up his door-to-door election campaign, toured the areas of old city including Pacci Dhakki, Gujjar Nagar, Prem Nagar and Christian Colony and  also opened election offices, at Christian Colony and Gujjar Nagar.
Lambasting the BJP for befooling the masses by hollow slogans, Malhotra said that the saffron party has stood exposed as it has not been able to fulfill a single promise made to the voters during Lok Sabha polls. “Where is the black money that was supposed to come back from foreign banks,” he said and added that BJP has taken a ‘U’ turn not only on this issue but on virtually all the promises made by it.
Mr Malhotra further stated that if people want a new paradigm of development and effective governance in the State, ensuring equitable development, they will not vote for BJP. He informed the people that his sincere efforts have given new dimension to Jammu East by transforming its landscape in terms of development and upgrading utility services.
The Congress leader said that perspective planning is imperative for an urban constituency like Jammu East, and expressed hope that the people will appreciate the necessity of such initiatives.  Malhotra said that he was overwhelmed by the support being expressed by the people to him.
