JAMMU, Feb 7: While the indefinite protest dharna and fast unto death at Budhal entered 6th consecutive day today, the people from Dharamsal in Kalakote continued their protest dharna, demanding Tehsil status for their respective areas.
Reports from Rajouri said that in Budhal the condition of three more persons sitting on fast has deteriorated. Two persons had been shifted to District Hospital Rajouri on Thursday.
Today the condition of Farooq Inqilabi, Manzoor Qazi and Jamurat Hussain deteriorated but they refused to take treatment. The people are sitting on fast unto death. The people kept bazaar closed and vehicles were not allowed to ply on the road. All the establishments were closed in view of protest.
A large number of people from Budhal and adjoining villages took out a protest rally in Budhal town and then they moved to Police Station and courted arrest. They also held dharna at Thana. Later they were let off by police. Despite rain and snowfall the protest and dharna continued. These people strongly criticized the NC and Congress leadership for doing most injustice with the people of Budhal area. They warned to shift their protest dharna in front of the office of DC Rajouri. The Sarpanchs from various Halqas of the area have threatened to resign if the Govt failed to announce Budhal as Tehsil by February 10.
Today AC Revenue Rajouri Sachin Dev Singh and ASP Shiv Kumar also visited Budhal town and talked to the agitating people but they have refused to suspend agitation till their demand is accepted.
Meanwhile, the people from Dharamsal area of Kalakote have continued their indefinite protest dharna and fast unto death strike. About twenty persons have gone on fast. They staged strong protest demonstration and demanded tehsil status for Dharamsal. They alleged that Government has not done justice with the area. The people raised slogans against local MLA, MP and even the Chief Minister and PCC president. They warned to intensify their agitation if the Government failed to address their demand.
