JAMMU, June 30: Crime Branch, Jammu has registered a case against a man and his three sons for tampering the power of attorney in order to execute a sale deed in their favour.
The accused are Girdhari Lal, son of Ishar Dass and his sons Rachpal, Ram Lal and Arjun, all the residents of village Chak Jagtu, R S Pura.
According to the Crime Branch, one Amar Nath, son of Lachman Dass of Jagtu Chak filed a written complaint duly endorsed by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu with the direction to investigate the matter after holding preliminary enquiry.
In the complaint, it was alleged that the complainant and his brothers were in cultivating possession of land measuring 10 kanals falling under Khasra No. 138 and 9 Kanal and 18 Marlas falling under Khasra No.132 at village Chak Jagtu duly mutated in their favour vide Mutation No. 288 dated 02.06.1995.
The complainant said that in the year 2000, they had executed an irrevocable general power of attorney in favour of Rachpal, Ram Lal and Arjun Kumar, all sons of Girdhari Lal and Girdhari Lal, son of Ishar Dass with respect to land measuring 9 Kanal and 18 Marlas out of the total 10 kanals land falling under Khasra No. 138, which was registered before the Sub-Registrar R S Pura, Jammu on 10.04.2000.
However, the accused persons tampered the original power of attorney and by making an insertion in the Khasra No. 138 as 132, executed a sale deed of the land falling under Khasra No. 132 in favour of accused Girdhari Lal thus cheated the complainant.
The accused after tampering the power of attorney executed a sale deed in favour of accused Girdhari Lal, which was registered before the Sub-Registrar R S Pura on 25.02.2000 thereby causing wrongful loss to the complainant through fraudulent means.
On this complaint, a formal case was registered under the relevant sections of law against the accused persons and investigation of the case has been started.
