RAMBAN, Feb 12: A man and his two-year-old daughter were crushed to death by a speedy truck at Jaswal bridge, Karool on Jammu-Srinagar National highway.
As per reports, a rashly driven truck bearing registration number JK02AH-7839 on its way to Srinagar hit a man and his daughter at Jaswal bridge, Karool.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to district hospital, where doctors declared both of them as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani of Sundgalli Tatarsu, Ramban and his two-year-old daughter Yasmeen Banoo.
After completing legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to family members for last rites.
The driver of the truck identified as Mohammad Hussain Mir, son of Asdullah Mir of Dooru, Anantnag has been arrested.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
