Srinagar, July 13: Police in Srinagar today arrested two persons including the father-in-law and husband of a woman who was allegedly set on fire by them resulting in her death.
The family of the deceased woman, Haseena, said that she was a mother of a 3-year-old child and was expecting another baby and was set on fire by her husband Mubashir Ahmad Dar and his father, Abdul Rahman Dar of Newtheed Harwan earlier.
In this regard, police have arrested both the individuals and a case under FIR number 39/2021 u/s 302 IPC has been registered.
Excelsior had earlier reported regarding the incident wherein it was stated that the police had taken note of the incident and had started the investigation. The statement of the deceased woman was also recorded by the police as well as the doctor well before she breathed her last.
As per the family members, there were already several complaints lodged against her in-laws after they started harassing her and resorted to domestic violence.
