JAMMU, Mar 4: Crime Branch Jammu today produced charge-sheet against father-son duo for cheating on the pretext of 25 percent interest per annum in ICIC Prudential Insurance Company.
Charge-sheet was produced against accused Kamal Lal son of Bhag Ram of Domana Jammu and his son Neeraj Kumar in case FIR No. 21/2016, under Section 420, 201,120-B/RPC for their involvement in luring the complainant and duping him of huge amount of hard earned money on the pretext of earning him 25 percent interest rate from ICICI Bank.
A written complaint was lodged by Ashok Kumar, son of Karam Chand of Domana, Jammu, in Crime Branch, alleging that accused Neeraj Kumar, working as an agent of ICICI Bank, allured him on the pretext that if Rs one lakh is deposited in the ICICI Bank, he would get 25 percent interest per annum. Owing to the allurements, the complainant gave Rs 5.50 lakhs to the accused but neither the interest was paid to him in return nor was the principle amount refunded by the accused.
It was also alleged that even the draft of Rs 1.25 lakh provided by the accused could not be en-cashed in Punjab National Bank, Domana as the same was got misplaced through accused Kamal Lal, who was working in the said Bank, as such, both the accused cheated the complaint.
On the receipt of this complaint a preliminary verification was initiated in Crime Branch, Jammu and it was prima facie substantiated that both the accused in a well planned manner allured and cheated the complaint of his hard earned money, leading to registration of instant criminal case. During the course of investigation, documentary as well as oral evidences were collected against the accused for the commission of crime and it is established that accused persons Kamal Lal and Neeraj Kumar after hatching criminal conspiracy with each other allured the complainant and duped him of his money.
Thus, offences U/S 420, 201,120-B/RPC have been established against accused persons. Charge-sheet has been produced before the Court of Municipal Magistrate, Jammu for judicial determination.
