Jammu, May 17: A father and his son died when they got buried under mud while digging in a remote village of tehsil Akhnoor here.
“About 0845 hours today Ex Sarpanch of Halqa Godhan, Shyam Lal informed to police that one Ram Saran (60), resident of Godhan and his son namely Jalla ram (36) were digging clay for the household purpose,” police here said. They said that suddenly the lump of soil fell on them and they both got buried and died on the spot.
“The bodies had been rescued from the spot and shifted to SDH Akhnoor where doctor declared them brought dead,” police said. “The bodies were handed over to their legal heirs after completing the legal formalities,” police added. (Agencies)
