Father, son held with banned drugs

RAJOURI, Mar 17: The police arrested father and son for smuggling of banned drugs and recovered 2334 capsules from their possession.
Official sources said that a police team led by SHO Rajouri, Ajaz Haider during routine checking at Salani bridge started frisking of passengers coming from Jammu to Rajouri in a bus. Two persons tried to avoid frisking and were observed behaving suspiciously.
Taking note of their activities , their belongings were put to thorough frisking by police team and a huge consignment of capsules / tablets of toxic nature were recovered from their possession. The recovered material included 1224 Spasmo Proxyon capsules, 540 Alprasafe tablets and 570 Ativan tablets. They were taken into custody.
They were identified as Manzoor Hussain, son of Mohammad Bashir and his son, Waqar Ahmed, residents of Chandimarh, Surankote, at present Ward No.9, Rajouri town.
An FIR No. 118/2019 under sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Rajouri against them.
