BHOPAL, Mar 24: In a first instance of its kind in Madhya Pradesh, a father-son duo will be serving together as IAS officers in the state.
Iqbal Singh Bains who is an IAS officer of the 1985 batch is now on deputation to New Delhi while his son Amanveer Singh was alloted the MP cadre last week.
Amanveer, who studied Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, ranked 45 th in the recently conducted UPSC examinations following which he got the posting.
There have been many instances of both father and son serving the adminsatration in the past in Madhya Pradesh where most sons joined IAS only after their fathers retired but in Amanveer’s case, his father is still in service. (PTI)
