FC Deptt registers case against illegal mining

KATHUA, Apr 5: During the routine inspection of river Ravi today by the field staff of Flood Control Division Kathua two vehicles bearing No PB 35-K-2329 and PB-35-K2527 belonging to Guru Nanak Stone Crusher of Punjab and one vehicle bearing No PB 08-AH-6776 of Shivam Stone Crusher of Punjab were found excavating the bed material from river Ravi down stream Lakhanpur Toll Plaza  in unplanned manner and with out proper permission from Flood Control Department.
They were excavating the material in total violation of provisions of Water Resources and Management Act  2010.
The Departmental team stopped the excavation and registered a case against the defaulters in Lakhanpur Police Station.
