JAMMU, Jan 17: Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today held a meeting to review functioning of vital health care initiatives and programmes being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.
The FC directed the officers to prepare a doable action plan and explore the possibility of expanding the initiatives to the peripheral hospitals. He asked them to work in close coordination for better results.
Emphasising the need for tertiary care at district hospitals, the FC said that training of medical officers and establishing protocols will be a priority of the department in this regard.
The initiatives and programmes discussed in the meeting included stroke units, save brain, cervical cancer screening, save heart, district mental health programmes, drug de-addiction centres.
The meeting was attended by Director Health Services, Jammu, Renu Khajuria; Principal Government Medical College, Jammu, Sunanda Raina, Chief Executive Officer, Mission Youth, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah; Mission Director, National Health Mission J&K, Bhupinder Kumar; Joint Director (Planning) H&ME, Madan Lal and other officers while officers from Kashmir division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
