FCI employees hold protest demonstration

JAMMU, Oct 17: The Employees of FCI under the call of Bharatiya Khadiya Nigam Karamchari Sangh (BKNKS) and FCI Class –IV Employees Union today held a massive demonstration in front of regional office here in support of their demands.
The protestors were demanding immediate shifting of DGM of the region for his objectionable activities. They said the DGM was also involved in Vigilance cases and placed in the list of officers of doubtful integrity for the year 2011 and he was also imposed a penalty for stoppage of three years increment and fine of Rs 50,000 by the FCI headquarters.
The protestors said that it is not understood that despite these orders how he was made incharge General Manager (region) from 2011 onwards for his doubtful integrity.
They demanded a through probe into the matter and action against the culprit.
The protestors said that though the headquarter management has assured his early removal but his continuance in the region is flaring up the industrial unrest and virtually the regional office of FCI has been made non –functional by his continued absence for the regional office.
The protestors warned to continue the protest under the trade union activities till his removal from the region and settlement of the other demands as given in the demand charter. The Trade Unions warned to hold lunch hour demonstration on October 25 in front of Regional Office here as next phase of agitation.
