Srinagar, Feb 15: Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) today welcomed the simplified business establishment process approved by LG’s administration to pave way for ease of doing business.
In a meeting of the administrative council of FCIK chaired by President Shahid Kamili, the members acknowledged the structural changes being made in the process of registration which are likely to help in laying a new foundation for creating long-desired entrepreneurial-conducive atmosphere with a slew of other aspired measures.
The members appreciated the decision about separate committees for organised and unorganised sectors being constituted for grant of requisite approvals and NOCs post establishment of new units or in the event of any change taking place in the activities of existing units
“The creation of common facilities in an organised industrial estate like effluent treatment plants, water storage and distribution, sewage, drainage, power distribution systems will make it convenient for the committee to grant NOCs and approvals in the shortest period,” the members observed.
They said that at the same time it also needs to be ensured that units established in the unorganised sector are not subjected to complex formalities causing them harassment on one or the other pretext.
While deliberating on Udyog Aadhar Memorandum, the members observed several difficulties with the prescribed form which has been approved by Union Ministry of MSME for all enterprises across the country.
“Since the situation for enterprises in other states has never been as tough and complex as that prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir particularly the valley, the prescribed form needed some changes or concessions for the local units,” they said.
President FCIK Shahid Kamili said that easing out the process of registration alone might not be able to reverse the perilous state of the economy in Jammu and Kashmir unless slew of other measures supplemented this first step of ease of doing business.
“All those required measures including marketing support, capital infusion, liquidity crunch, rehabilitation of sick industry, OTS schemes etc have already been taken up by FCIK with LG and other authorities in his administration during recent meetings” he informed and hoped that decisions to that effect were taken at the earliest.
