FCS&CA seals 3 shops, 59 fined for violations

Srinagar, Aug 14: A team of officials from the FCS&CA Department headed by Assistant Director Enforcement Mushtaq Ahmad Wani today conducted a market checking in district Srinagar.
The team inspected various food establishments including chicken, Mutton, fruit & vegetable shops.
During the inspection, the team sealed three mutton establishments, registered two FIRs against mutton dealers and recovered a fine of Rs 26450 from 59 erring shopkeepers.
“The rotten fruits and vegetables were also destroyed on spot in presence of the public,” the officials said.
The team also interacted with many people on spot wherein they have been told not to pay more money than the fixed price by the Government.
In the meantime, the team also conducted a surprise check to various Gold Smith Shops in Hari Singh High Street where they were directed to keep hallmark jewellery available for the public without fail.
The team also conducted a surprise check to some boutiques in the area where they have been asked to keep the rates of the stitched suits exhibit for the public.
The public, in general, has been asked to lodge their complaint on toll-free number 18001807011 in case of any violation of rates in the market.
