FCS&CA seals 8 shops, erring shopkeepers fined

Srinagar, July 20: A team of officials headed by Director FCS&CA Dr Abdul Salam Mir conducted the market checking in district Srinagar in view of Eid-Ul-Azha during which several establishments were sealed while a fine was also recovered from erring shopkeepers.
Officials said that during the inspection the team inspected the rates of sacrificial animals and also various food establishments including chicken, mutton, fruit and vegetable shops.
“The team sealed 8 establishments, filed 7 FIRs and recovered a fine of Rs 35500 from the erring shopkeepers. The rotten fruits and vegetables were also destroyed on spot in presence of the public,” the official said.
Assistant Director Enforcement Kashmir was accompanying the Director during the inspection of various establishments. The team interacted with people on spot wherein they were told not to pay more money than the fixed price by the Government.
The officials said that the team made available the sacrificial animals at Eidgah to the public on the spot on the Govt. approved rates fixed by the Department
