FDP on ‘Universal Human Values’ concludes at SMVDU

KATRA, Mar 26: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized a three-day Introductory Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Universal Human Values” under the PM-USHA initiative. The event, held in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), was conducted by the NCCIP AICTE Team.
The program featured insightful sessions led by NCCIP members Dr Priya Darshni and Dr Manisha Gupta, with Manu Rajput serving as an Observer, to ensure smooth execution. Regional Coordinators Jitender Narula and Dr Charanjeet Madan played a pivotal role in facilitating the FDP.
Aimed at instilling human values among educators, the FDP focused on fostering ethical and moral development in teaching. The initiative aligns with AICTE’s vision to promote value-based education across academic institutions in India. Participants included faculty members from SMVDU, Cluster University Jammu, Central University of Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME), and various Government Degree Colleges, who gained valuable insights into the integration of human values in education.
Organized by SMVDU’s Universal Human Value Cell and Academic Affairs Section, the FDP was coordinated by Prof (Dr) Balbir Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, and Dr Kamaldeep, Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering. Additionally, Dr Shafaq Rasool and Dr Bharat Bhushan Jindal (Associate Deans Academic Affairs) along with Dr Madhu Mangal Chaturvedi served as local co-coordinators. Dr Pooja Sharma, Dr Amit Sinha and Dr Anil Bhardwaj also played crucial roles in ensuring the seamless execution of the program.
The initiative marks another step in SMVDU’s commitment to fostering holistic education and strengthening the foundation of ethical teaching practices across academic institutions.
