The demands highlighted in the letter, include; giving status of small and micro business / service provider to the traders, issue Udyog Aadhaar card to the merchant, not more than 6 percent interest on the bank loans given to small traders, loans under the Mudra scheme up to Rs 10 lakhs for retail traders only, a single point GST system, TDS provisions in the current financial year be suspended, e-commerce should be allowed to sell only items below 5000, various licenses notified by the State government and Municipalities be adjusted in the Industry Aadhaar Card (service area) of the traders, setting up the Merchant Welfare Board at the earliest and loan up to Rs 10 lakhs under the Mudra scheme be reserved only for the retail traders.
The Federation also submitted that due to Corona, a lot of goods have gone bad in the warehouses of the traders, who must sell the same at less than their purchase price. “In this way, the GST paid on purchase was higher while the GST received from the sale was less. Thus, GST input credit to the traders has been collected with the Government. This is the traders’ own money, if the Government returns it, the traders will get a lot of convenience,” the letter further said.
