Female bootlegger held, illicit liquor kiln smashed

REASI, Mar 20: Police arrested a female bootlegger and smashed an illicit liquor kiln, being operated by the accused at village Jerhi Jamri, under the jurisdiction of Reasi Police Station, here last night.
The arrested accused was identified as Gurjeet Kour, wife of Sardar Rajiv Singh. Two litres of illicit liquor was seized from her possession while 95 litres of Lahan, which was also recovered, was destroyed on the spot.
In this connection, case FIR number 53/2019 u/s 50 Excise Act was registered.
According to the Police, the accused woman was carrying on this illegal trade of manufacturing and selling of illicit liquor from the past quite some time. She was earlier arrested in case FIR number 32/2019 u/s 48(b) (d) (e) Excise Act, last month.
The said raid was conducted by a special team, led by Dr Waseem Hamdani (Dy SP Hqrs Reasi) along with SHO Reasi, Insp Ashwani Sharma.
