KATHUA, Jan 19: The Management of Chenab Textile Mill (CTM) here today has claimed that some unscrupulous elements along with some ex-female workers of the Mill have gathered outside the office of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua yesterday alleging that they were being forced to work in the night shift by CTM Management.
“There is no such situation in the Mill and the female workers working in night shift have given their consent with their understanding,” a handout by CTM Management stated further clarifying that CTM has got approval from the Government authority for engaging female workers in night shift.
“We are engaging only those females in night shift who willingly gave their consent to work in night shifts,” the CTM Management claimed.
It further clarified that some outside unsocial elements were intentionally spreading false news that CTM is forcibly engaging female workers in night shifts without taking approval from the Government authority.
“CTM Management is committed to serve the nation by treating everybody equal and accordingly equal facility is being provided to all the workers within the legal framework,” the handout continued.
