Feroz Khan calls on Air Chief Marshal, discusses Air Force flights to Kargil

KARGIL, Jan 4: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan along with the Executive Councilor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, Er Phunsog Tashi called on the Air Chief Marshal R K S Bhadauria at New Delhi and discussed with him various issues related to the operation of Air Force flights to Kargil during the winter season.
The CEC expressed gratitude to the Indian Air Force for lifting hundreds of passengers by IL76 out of Kargil and Leh recently. He also requested the Air Chief Marshal for providing more sorties of IL 76 besides ensuring regular service of AN 32 Courier Service between Kargil to Srinagar and Jammu.
Feroz Khan urged the Air Chief Marshall for continuation of ALH and MI 17 helicopter services from Leh to Padum and evacuation of emergency patients from various villages of Zanskar to District Hospital Kargil and SNM Hospital Leh during the winter months.
The Air Chief Marshal gave a patient hearing to all issues raised by the CEC and assured of looking into each issue for suitable follow up.
Meanwhile, the Air Vice Marshal instructed the Air Marshal Operations to issue necessary directions to AOC Leh for effective coordination with LAHDC Kargil for smooth operation of flights and assured to keep forms for IL76 for civil population at DC Office Kargil.
He also assured the CEC that IL 76 shall be arranged for Kargil bound passengers every month.
The CEC was further assured that emergency patients shall be evacuated and helicopter services shall also be continued during winter period more frequently between Leh and Padum while as maximum sorties of AN 32 Courier Service shall be operated for Kargil.
