Feroz Khan lays foundation stone of Revenue Complex Zanskar

KARGIL, Sept 17: On the second day of his 3 day extensive tour of Zanskar Sub Division, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad in presence of the Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsog Tashi and Executive Councillor for Agriculture and Health Muhammad Ali Chandan today laid the foundation stone of Revenue Complex Zanskar at Padum being constructed at a cost of Rs 7.80 crores with a cost of Rs 1.50 crores under Phase Ist under District Plan.
The complex would house the offices of the SDM, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Revenue Record Room and other related offices.
CEC Khan along with the EC Zanskar Affairs and EC Health also laid the foundation stone of the Multipurpose Utility Center Phase I at Karsha at a cost of Rs 1.50 crores under the District Plan.
While addressing the public gatherings at Padum and Karsha after the inaugurations, the CEC congratulated people for sanctioning of these projects and said that there is no dearth of funds for carrying out developmental activities in the district and adequate funds have been kept for Zanskar Sub Division under the Capex Budget, SDP and other schemes.
Reiterating the commitment of the Council to ensure equitable development of all regions of the district and the initiatives underway with particular reference to Zanskar, the CEC said that with the three side connectivity from Leh, Himachal and Kargil, the area will see new a era of progress and development in the coming years and will emerge as a favored tourist destination in the country.
While concrete steps for the construction of tunnel at Shinkula are about to begin, the area will also be connected to the National Power Grid by next year and Jio mobile towers at Rangdum, Akshow, Abran and Padum will be made functional by October end this year, the CEC added.
Earlier, the CEC along with the EC Health, EC Zanskar Affairs, SDM Zanskar, CMO Kargil, BMO Zanskar and other concerned officers also Community Health Centre (CHC) Padum and took stock of the health facilities available to patients in the health institution.
While discussing various other important issues related to the development of the hospital and up-gradation of the existing health facilities with the hospital management, the CEC directed the CMO Kargil and the Executive Engineer PWD Division Zanskar to ensure completion of the Operation Theatre Block by the end of October, 2020 which is being constructed under Annual Capex Budget at a cost of Rs 1 crore 7 lacs.
He also instructed the officers to ensure the timely completion of the construction of Staff Quarters and OPD Block which have been sanctioned under the Annual Capex Budget at a total cost of Rs 3 crores.
