Feroz Khan takes stock of developmental works

JAMMU, Feb 12: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Khan today visited Kargil House and Kargil Girls Hostel Majeen Sidhra here and took stock of the progress of the construction, repair and renovation works of these projects.
The engineers concerned apprised the CEC that around 90% of the works had already been completed so far at a cost of almost Rs 45 lakh while as the remaining works are expected to be completed within the next two weeks time.
At Girls Hostel Majeen Sidhra, the concerned engineers informed the CEC that tender of Rs 855 lakh project is underway and work is expected to be allotted by the end of the month and with the completion of other requisite formalities, the laying of foundation stone is expected to be held by the second week of March.
The engineers further said that complete boundary wall of the hostel has already been constructed with proper fencing.The hostel spread over an area of 5 and half canals features boarding and lodging capacity of at least 200 girl students.
Meanwhile, the CEC also took brief from the engineers concerned about the status of ongoing repair and renovation works of Kargil Boys Hostel at Channi Rama. ” The renovation and repair works on the project is going on in full swing and around Rs 9.00 lakh have been expended so far”, engineer apprised to the CEC.
The CEC stressed the engineers concerned to ensure proper fund management and to put in their best efforts to ensure timely completion of works so that targets are achieved within the stipulated timelines.
