PULWAMA, Sept 25: Minister of State for Science & Technology, Feroze Ahmad Khan today inaugurated 10 KW Solar Power Plant installed at Community Information Centre Kadlabal Pampore.
The Minister was informed that the work on the plant was started in June this year at an estimated cost of Rs 24.15 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the students would be provided better power supply during training session in the Community Information Centre.
He said that the Government would provide these facilities to the un-electrified areas of the state. He said that state has rich potential for harassing solar power.
Mr. Feroze said that the state will be self-sufficient in power in near future, adding that not only this the state will supply power to the other states but will provide employment opportunities to the unemployed local youth. He said power sector if utilized fully can change socio-economic conditions of the state.
Additional District Development Commissioner & other senior officers of the Science and Technology Department were also present on the occasion.
