JAMMU, July 29: The two day festival of Nukkad Plays organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Pahari Rangmanch Theatre Group concluded here today at Government Boy Pahari Hostel, Rajouri.
On this occasion Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL said that they are committed to organise Theatre related activities in whole of J&K.
The Nukkad Play Festival was organised for the aspiring students, theatre loving people and the general audience.
Singh said that in the history of Jammu Theatre JKAACL has organised such an ‘Open Theatre Event’ for the first time in Rajouri.
He further said that Theatre related activities will be given due recognition at par with other cultural and literary activities and theatre will remain continuous and to make it more vibrant in terms of its promotion and development, JKAACL is also paying special attention to make it regular activity like ‘Weekly Nukkad Theatre Series’ for whole of the year in both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir.
The festival was started on July 28 after inauguration by Wakil Bhat, District Social Welfare Officer as chief guest while Hamid Malik and Rajinder Sharma, Warden and Assistant Warden of Pahari Hostel were guests of honour.
On concluding day Vinod Gupta, a prominent social activist was chief guest and Mohd. Akram was guest of honour.
Sahil Mehra, Ashish Bhasin and Amandeep Singh presented musical recital on concluding ceremony.
Theatre groups which performed in this Nukkad Festival were Vishal Pahari Rangmanch Theatre Group Rajouri and Himalayan Cultural Club comprising Vikrant Verma, Amit Singh, Anil Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Kremica Sharma, Rameez Khan, Rahil Kapoor and Ojasvi Dutta while Script and Direction were done by Vishal Pahari.
Team of Pervaiz Malik’s group from Darhal included Zakir Khaki, Aaliya, Kya, Shabaz Waseem, Arshad Ahmed, Imitayaz Ahmed, Sadakat Ali, Afsana, Shakeela Akhtar and Ashiq Husan.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, SDI/ I/C Divisional Head Jammu was the overall incharge of the programme who also welcomed the guests while Vishal Pahari, a cultural and social activist presented vote of thanks.
Prominent dignitaries of district Rajori present on the occasion were Bhushan Sharma, Nighat Malik, Tabusam Mirza and Vikrant Sharma.
