Fibrous ceiling collapses at GMC, security guard injured

JAMMU, Oct 10: Fibrous ceiling at Emergency Ward of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) collapsed, resulting into injuries to a security guard in the wee hours today. However, Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) has renovated it, late this evening.
Official sources told the EXCELSIOR that the emergency ward at GMCH turned out to be fatal for casualty patients and attendants as a specific portion of fibrous roof ceiling fell down suddenly, resulting into injury to a security guard.
The sudden fall of ceiling created panic among the patients and the attendants at emergency ward of the hospital, sources added.
The injured security personnel has been identified as Rakesh Kumar of Janipur, sources said, adding that he was hospitalized and later discharged after first-aid.
