JAMMU, Oct 25: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Chairman, J&K UT Council, Rajesh Sharma, held a productive meeting with the Managing Director of the Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) and the Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Ltd (SICOP), Jammu & Kashmir today.
The meeting, which took place in Jammu focused on fostering economic growth and industrial development in the region. Discussions about various initiatives and collaborative efforts to boost the industrial landscape in Jammu & Kashmir, create job opportunities, and empower local entrepreneurs took place in the meeting.
Sharma expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to the economic development of Jammu & Kashmir and praised the state’s potential for growth. He highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships in realizing the full potential of the region’s industrial sector.
The Managing Director of SIDCO and SICOP, Inderjeet, shared insights into the ongoing projects and initiatives undertaken by SIDCO to promote industrial growth. Sharma also discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
During the meeting, the FICCI Chairman and the MD of SIDCO/SICOP discussed potential areas of collaboration, including developing industrial infrastructure, such as industrial parks and estates, to attract investment and facilitate the growth of industries and attracting domestic and international investments by creating a conducive business environment, offering incentives, and promoting the UT as an attractive destination for industries.
