JAMMU, May 19: With an aim to provide affordable healthcare to people residing in rural communities, FICCI FLO JKL launched its “Har Ghar Swasth” campaign here today.
The launch event featured a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and Sanitary Napkin Distribution Drive, marking a significant step towards promoting women’s health and well-being in rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL urged the women to prioritize their health.
She highlighted that only a healthy woman can keep her home healthy and encouraged the women to talk openly about the menstrual cycle with their daughters, stressing the need to eliminate the stigma associated with menstruation.
Gupta thanked Tina Malhotra for helping FLO connect with the women for the event.
She also lauded the efforts & commitment of SMVD Narayana Super Specialty Hospital, Katra, for always extending their support to FLO JKL health initiatives.
Dr. Beena Jad, Senior Consultant & HoD (Dept. of Lab Medicine) from SMVD Narayana Super Specialty Hospital, Katra, delivered an insightful awareness talk to the women present.
She emphasized the importance of maintaining basic hygiene during menstrual days and provided valuable information about the cervical cancer vaccine, which is now available free of cost by the government for girls aged 9-14 years.
FICCI FLO JKL is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of rural communities through its “Har Ghar Swasth” initiative. Through a series of health camps which shall take place across remote areas, they aim to address various health concerns such as orthopedic issues, eye ailments, tuberculosis, heart conditions and general medical needs.
