KATHUA, Dec 8: BJP senior leader and celebrity, Navjot Singh Sidhu today made a scathing attack on Pakistan for sending Fidayeen into J&K to disturb the poll process.
Addressing largely attended election meetings at Billawar, Basohli and Machedi in Bani Assembly segments of Kathua district today, he said frustrated over large turnout in first two phases of elections in the State, Pakistan has resorted to Fidayeen attacks to scare people. But the neighboring country will never succeed in its vicious designs as its game plan will boomerang. The participation of large number of people in elections is a defeat to both terrorism and Pakistan as people of State who have suffered a lot during the turmoil period can’t be misled by Pakistan and its agents any more, he added.
Sidhu said the sacrifices given by the valiant soldiers while fighting terrorism and Fidayeen will not go waste as it will dawn a new era of peace and prosperity for the State.
Criticizing the Congress, he appealed the people to defeat its candidates and like at national level the Congress should be routed from the State also as the Party failed to do anything for the development of the State and welfare of its people during last 65 years. Congress was always bothered how to form the Government in the State and remain in power. So it aligned with any Party which suited to its interests from time to time just to remain in power. The Party tied up with PDP in 2002 and seeing its graph had decreased in the elections in 2008, it parted ways with the Party and joined hands with NC to form the Government without caring for the sentiments of the people who voted for it, he added.
Sidhu also did not spare the National Conference (NC) and said late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, his son, Dr Farooq Abdullah and grand son Omar Abdullah who also ruled the State for years together failed to do anything concrete for the people, except encouraging corruption with the result huge funds granted by Centre for welfare of the State have gone down the drain.
Appealing people to support BJP by casting their precious vote in favour of Party candidates and make Modi Ji’s Mission 44+ a success, he said if voted to power BJP will pay total attention for the development of the State by constructing new roads, setting up developmental projects etc. The money given by Centre will not go down the drain but will be spent on welfare of the people of the State and there will be total accountability on all fronts, he added.
At Bani the rally was also addressed by Party candidate Jeewan Lal while at Billawar it was addressed by BJP candidate Dr Nirmal Singh.
