NEW DELHI, Aug 5: Exporters body FIEO has started a six-month diploma course for budding entrepreneurs with an aim to provide special skills in the field of foreign trade.
The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) along with Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) would provide training to 42 budding entrepreneurs in one batch.
“Such courses will help people in doing their businesses efficiently,” Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) A K Pujari said.
FIEO Director General Ajay Sahai said it would give a platform to entrepreneurs to interact with industry people.
“Involvement of more and more people in the external trade is also necessary on the back of India aiming USD 500 billion exports by 2013-14,” Sahai said.
BIMTECH Director H Chaturvedi said the course would provide a more comprehensive and practical knowledge of trade.
“There would be shortage of skilled manpower in foreign trade practices in the coming future,” he said. (PTI)
