Fight Forward Brigade celebrates 46th AWWA day

JAMMU, Aug 22: Fight Forward Brigade celebrated 46th Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) day in Sunrise Garrison.
The function was inaugurated by chairperson, Family Welfare Organization (FWO), Fight Forward Brigade by lighting lamp, which was followed by traditional AWWA song representing the inner strength of a woman.
The aim of AWWA week was to focus on development of families of the jawans towards achieving self dependency in all fields.
To educate the families, a series of lectures and demonstrations were conducted by Lady Medical Officers on infant mortality, pregnancy related complications, life style related problems and diseases.
On the occasion, various competitions including healthy baby competition and health snack competition were also organised.
All Veer Naris of the area of responsibility were also invited and felicitated.
A medical checkup was also conducted for them during the event. A pension cell was established by ECHS Polyclinic, BD Bari, where pension related problems of Veer Naris were addressed.
The event culminated with fun and frolic, where all families enjoyed various fun and food stalls, lunch organized for them.
