Figures provided about Pandits land, property not right: AMCCC

JAMMU, Oct 19: The All Migrant Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has termed the recent statement of the Government regarding the left over property of Kashmiri Pandits including their land and houses was not based on facts.
Contesting the Government’s claims on the issue AMCCC chief Desh Rattan said that as per the statement there were only 22 houses and 962 kanals of land of Pandits in Shopian district is not fact.
He said similarly reports about the other districts are not also on the basis of facts and alleged that the land records of Kashmiri Pandits  have been mutated with ulterior motives.
Mr Rattan sought personal intervention of the Minister of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla in the matter and demanded that a high level team be constituted to verify the same and set the record right.
He said the land of displaced Pandits in various parts of the Valley as well as of their religious places has been grabbed by land mafia and the same should be restored immediately.
He said that some people within the administration with ulterior motives are providing wrong information to Government about the left over property of Pandits.
